Prop It Like You're Hot

I've got a new friend. Wow. That makes it sound like I have trouble making friends. Which I don't. So let me start again. I have a new friend - that shares my interest in cosplay, conventions and games. It's about damn time. Penguin is like that, but she also scares away other potential dress upperers. Also she takes a really long time to actually do anything about it even though the decision to suddenly turn up to a movie night as some random character will strike as quick as lightning.

I love Penguin, I really do, but sometimes she's frustrating about that stuff hahaha. If it sounds like I'm being mean, let me put it in perspective.. every year, we have to have a birthday celebration for her towards the end, even though her actual day is nearer the start. I really admire the effort she goes too, though.

It's hard to find people like that. I find it kind of funny how people get all embarrassed about dressing up. It's like.. hey, I've seen what you wear to the club, what you wear to bed, your weird outfit at work..... and you're afraid to be a Sailor Scout? Honey, people love the Scouts.

So I've been inspired to start designing again. I have a slight disadvantage in that I can't actually alter clothes myself, or sew things together but I make up for that with sheer determination and the power to yell at inanimate objects.

I'd love to throw a huge costume party, but I just know people will be slack and not RSVP or worse, turn up in bleedin' street clothes. Or worse worse, in one of those tacky sex store costume. Oh, you're a Playboy Bunny/Nurse/Skank Cop... no-one's done that before. By the way, you just paid about $70 to come to a party in the wrong theme looking like you're an escort.

I don't expect anyone to buy a whole new wardrobe just to come to a party. That's unreasonable. Although I do know people who have ordered outfits online just for one party. The best part about dressing up is that you can find so much awesome stuff in your own house and just get creative with it. Borrow from friends or family, go nuts.

Anyway, haven't had much time to do anything this week. I've been absorbed in gym, study, curling up like a tiger ball in my partner's arms, more study, more gym, more stripey cuddles and quite a lot of driving! It's a good thing I finished all my puzzle books the week they came out! Actually, that's sad. Efficient, but sad. Haven't really drawn anything this last fortnight either.

What I have drawn is fantastic though and I've just had great ideas coming out the wazoo. Heh. Sounds dirty. Next on my list of things to kill complete is a bit of cleaning, a spot of photo cataloging and I'm guessing more study. My gym had a great membership deal though so now I'm officially a member and it's going to save me a toned buttload of money.

I reckon the worst bit about getting back into the study game is using Microsoft Word again. Really can't stand all the messing with default dictionaries, templates, spell check options and everything, only for MS Word to decide that what I *really* wanted was the English (United States) option. Yes, because adding Zee's only makes things better.

Ask Snoop Doggy Dog.
